After Gamescom and E3 2020 got cancelled amid the COVID-19 pandemic, everyone wondered what would happen to the big game reveals of 2020. Well, they will still happen. Geoff Keighley announced the Summer Game Fest as a replacement event. The event will take place between May and August 2020 and play host to a range of game reveals.
The Summer Game Fest is an umbrella event and will host PS5 and Xbox Series X announcements too. Geoff Keighley also plans on adding his “Game Awards” flair to the event.

Participating publishers in The Summer Games Fest include; Sony, Microsoft, 2K, Activision, Bandai Namco, Bethesda, Blizzard Entertainment, Bungie, CD Projekt Red, Digital Extremes, Electronic Arts, Microsoft, Private Division, Riot Games, Steam, Square Enix, and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. In addition, certain stores in the US will host a variety of playable demos.
The Steam Game Festival: Summer Edition also plans on running from 9-14 June 2020. In conclusion, we have a jam-packed couple of months ahead of us in terms of game reveals. With both Sony and Microsoft on board for the Summer Game Fest, we will no doubt get some PS5 and Xbox Series X action.
