Super Nintendo World Donkey Kong Country

Super Nintendo World Gets Donkey Kong Area in December With a Rollercoaster and Music Game

Nintendo is expanding its Super Nintendo World in Universal Studios Japan in Osaka area to accommodate the company’s big hairy ape. Donkey Kong Country will open on 11 December and include a rollercoaster and a rhythm game visitors can participate in while exploring the park.

The rollercoaster is traditionally designed in a mine cart. The music game is a three-player Donkey Konga attraction where players can enjoy making music to certain cues. The park itself is then designed with all the iconic Donkey Kong Country buildings and assets. There’s a golden temple that spits out steam, towering trees with included tree houses in some of them and of course, a heavy emphasis on bananas.

Similar to other Super Nintendo World locations, Donkey Kong Country will have mini-games for players to discover by using the NFC bracelet (sold separately). Players will have to find hidden letters throughout the park as they would when playing the Donkey Kong Country video games. It all seems quite fun.

You can watch the full walkthrough of the attraction in a special video Nintendo put together. It includes some cameos of Cranky Kong and a ridiculously good-looking Donkey Kong.
