Tales From The Borderlands Returns to Digital Storefronts Two Years After Delisting

When Telltale Games shut its doors back in 2018,  games developed by the popular episodic studio were all delisted from storefronts. This included the popular Tales From The Borderlands. The game was set between the stories of Borderlands 2 and the original Borderlands game. Developer Gearbox announced, along with the Director’s Cut news for Borderlands 3 that the ‘Tales From’ game will return to stores on 17 February 2021.

The whole Telltale Games situation was extremely unfortunate. The studio released multiple award-winning games in the past including The Walking Dead which won Game of The Year in 2013. Sadly, the studio was forced to shut its doors in 2018 due to financial issues. Skybournd Entertainment took over the project and released the final season a year later in 2019. This news does make the future of the series sound hopeful.

Tales from the Borderlands returns to storefronts February 17. Set between Borderlands 2 and 3Tales from the Borderlands follows the stories of Rhys, a Hyperion suit, and Fiona, a con artist, on a quest borne of greed but destined for greatness.”

Thankfully, players won’t need to have played any of the original Borderlands games in the past to understand Tales From The Borderlands. This means that when the game arrives on 17 February 2021, picking the game up might be a welcome introduction into the series if you have never played any of the games before. For those who have, it will add padding to the already-great story too. It is unclear yet whether or not the game will be remastered in any way for the new consoles.

Here’s an old trailer from the original release.
