Techland Now Says Dying Light 2 Can Be Completed in 20 Hours

Techland is stirring up confusion when it comes to the game length of Dying Light 2. Yesterday, we reported that the game is around 500 hours long if you plan on exploring the entire map, speaking to every NPC and finding every collectable. However, Techland has also said that Dying Light 2 can be completed in 100 hours. This includes completing the main story and side missions. Now, the developer says that Dying Light 2 is actually 20 hours long.

In the latest update from Techland, the developer claims that Dying Light 2 can last around 20 hours if you only plan on experiencing the main story. We don’t know if this means a player would have to go from one main story mission to the next without being distracted by the world around them or not. Techland also says that the main mission and side missions will take you around 80 hours to complete. This has changed from the 100 hours the developer previously shared.

So where did the 500 hours come from? Well, Techland says that according to its internal testing, it takes around 500 hours to experience everything there is to do in Dying Light 2. This includes the main story mission (of 20 hours), the side missions (of 60 hours), speaking to every NPC, finding every collectable and piece of gear, and visiting every corner of the world.

So it won’t take you 500 hours to play Dying Light 2. In fact, it might only take some players around 40 hours if they do the main story and a few side missions. If you’re really up for the challenge, you can try and fully explore the game, we won’t judge.

Dying Light 2 is set to launch on 4 February 2022 for PS4. PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
