Tekken 8 Raven Peruvian Azucena New Fighter

Tekken 8 Adds Raven and New Peruvian Character, Azucena

Bandai Namco revealed two new characters for Tekken 8 during Evo 2023 which includes the long-awaited return of Raven and a new Peruvian character named Azucena. This comes in light of a recent leak which already listed both characters before the big surprise. Nonetheless, we finally have a few gameplay trailers that show off each fighter’s new moves and finishers which are sure to get fans excited.

Raven was MIA from Tekken 7 and replaced with Master Raven who more or less featured a similar moveset and fighting style. This time, Raven is making his triumphant return to the series. The character, loosely inspired by Wesley Snipes’ Blade, first made his debut in Tekken 5 and quickly became a fan-favourite among the community. The latest gameplay trailer for Raven shows off his improved combos and a finisher which definitely has Shadow Clone Jutsu vibes from Naruto.

Additionally, Bandai Namco also revealed Tekken 8‘s first new fighter in Azucena. Hailing from Peru, Azucena (supercharged with coffee) uses a combination of feinting attacks and baiting opponents into attacking before unleashing counters. This should keep players on their toes if they do ever go up against an Azucena player. So far, the Peruvian community is praising the representation as well as the game’s inclusion of authentic Incan and Kuzco ruins in the new stages.

Tekken 8 doesn’t have a release date yet but we’ve been getting plenty of character trailers over the last few months, including previously announced fighters like Jin Kazama, Kazuya Mishima, Lars Alexandersson, Marshall Law, Paul Phoenix, King, Jun Kazama, Ling Xiaoyu and many more.

From the leaked list of unannounced characters coming to Tekken 8, we can still look forward to Yoshimitsu, Shaheen, Zafina, Steve and Alisa.

Tekken 8 is currently in development for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. Check out the gameplay trailers for Raven and Azucena below:
