Bandai Namco has revealed a new character gameplay trailer for its upcoming fighting game, Tekken 8. This time, it’s Claudio Serafino. The publisher has been quiet lately with dropping new character trailers. Since the game’s official reveal, we’ve had an influx of new gameplay trailers showing off the roster but it slowed down over the last couple of months. Ahead of the Closed Network Test, things might finally be picking up now.
Claudio Serafino was first introduced in Tekken 7 as one of the game’s new characters. Known as “the world’s strongest exorcist”, Claudio hails from Italy and leads a secret organisation of exorcists called the Archers of Sirius. His story thread weaves between several characters in the Tekken universe and it will continue in Tekken 8, which sees him dealing with the fallout of the last game’s events as well as his organisation losing a number of members.

Utilising a variety of close and ranged magical combat, Claudio’s moveset has been described as reminiscent of Uryu Ishida, a Quincy from the anime series, Bleach. This is largely due to his mystical archery skills and appearance. However, he’s more than just a master of archery as his melee combos are flexible, fast and tend to focus on juggling opponents with a flurry of flashy executions.
Claudio’s gameplay trailer for Tekken 8 shows a vast improvement of his moveset from Tekken 7, which appears to be a bit faster and more aggressive now. Fans of Claudio (like myself) have reacted positively to these changes and improvements so we’ll hopefully be seeing a much more refined version of the character in the next game.
So far, the character roster continues to grow with returning faces such as Kazuya Mishima, Jin Kazama, King, Marshall Law, Jun Kazama, Lili and many others.
