Tekken 8 Lars Alexandersson Gameplay Trailer Bandai Namco

Tekken 8 Reveals Lars Alexandersson Gameplay Trailer

Tekken 8 is on a roll with its new character gameplay trailers. Last week we got a glimpse at Marshall Law and King. This week, Lars Alexandersson joins the battle in a new gameplay trailer that shows off the fighter’s familiar combos, improved movement and a flashy finisher that’s seemingly inspired by a certain anime.

The latest Tekken 8 gameplay trailer for Lars Alexandersson welcomes the fast-hitting character to the roster. This time, Lars harnesses some awesome lightning abilities that definitely remind us of his half-brother, Kazuya Mishima. For those that don’t know, Lars is the illegitimate child of Heihachi Mishima and an unknown Swedish mother. Perhaps Tekken 8 will finally give us the answer as to who his mother is but we’ll just have to find out in the full game.

Lars was first introduced in Tekken 6 and sort of took the main campaign’s spotlight as the protagonist. We later come to find out that he’s part-Mishima as he’s the son of Heihachi Mishima, half-brother to Kazuya and technically Jin’s uncle. His feud with the Mishima Zaibatsu has now given him a personal motivation to intervene and stop the corporation in its tracks.

As seen in the new gameplay trailer, Lars Alexandersson features a finishing move that’s awfully reminiscent of Naruto‘s Kakashi, especially the speedy ninja-like lightning hits and stylish final blow. Whether Bandai Namco is paying homage to Naruto with this move is anyone’s guess but it’s arguably one of the coolest we’ve seen yet from Tekken 8.

Tekken 8 is still without a release date but Bandai Namco is aiming to release the anticipated fighting game sometime before April 2024 when its fiscal year ends. We can probably expect Jack to make an appearance in the next character gameplay trailer but beyond that, no new characters have been revealed as part of the starting lineup. That may all change soon if Bandai Namco continues to drip-feed these exciting trailers.

Tekken 8 is currently in development for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. Check out the Lars trailer below.
