Tekken 8 Showcases Kazuya Gameplay in Latest Trailer

Bandai Namco has released a trailer for its upcoming fighting game Tekken 8 which showcases brand new gameplay for Kazuya Mishima, one of the franchise’s most popular characters. Tekken 8 is still without a release date but Bandai Namco has ramped up the game’s marketing over the past couple of weeks following the Tekken World Tour, which previously revealed Nina Williams as part of the initial roster of fighters.

Some of Kazuya’s combos and Devil Gene transformation is shown in the latest Tekken 8 gameplay trailer, including the gorgeous backdrop of New York. Kazuya fight aggressively which pairs well with the game’s various new mechanics that encourages aggressive play. No new characters were shown but Kazuya is seen fighting his son, Jin Kazama, who was already revealed in the announcement trailer.

Tekken 8 is shaping up to be an impressive evolution of Tekken 7, complete with updated visuals thanks to the power of Unreal Engine 5. The gameplay has also been given several tweaks as fights seem to flow much faster and more fluidly, albeit with the same level of strategy that players will have to think about when initiating combos, grabs and finishers.

So far, Tekken 8‘s fighter roster includes Kazuya Mishima, Jin Kazama, Nina Williams, King, Jack, Paul Phoenix, Lars Alexandersson, Marshall Law and Jun Kazama, who will return to the series after a decade.

As for when we can finally get our hands on Tekken 8, Bandai Namco stated in its recent financial results that it plans on launching the anticipated game before April 2024. Given the amount of marketing we’re receiving now, it’s possible that Tekken 8 might launch before the end of the year since it seems to be in quite a prestine state judging by the gameplay trailers.
