Bandai Namco Entertainment is gearing up to launch season 2 of its acclaimed fighting game, Tekken 8. Season 2 will arrive after the new Winter Update The Winter Update will arrive in early 2025 and bring Photo Mode, even more customisation features and cosmetics, and other free items. In Spring 2025, Bandai Namco will release season 2 though little is actually known about this next season and what to expect.
Bandai Namco recently released a new trailer going over everything coming to the Winter Update for Tekken 8. First and foremost, players will finally get Photo Mode which seems pretty in-depth and allows them to tinker with lighting, ambiance and even character expressions, including how much grime and sweat they have on them. Taking things a step further, more customisation features such as cosmetic items and outfits will also be added to the game. This time, players can also display their custom characters on the main menu screen.
The Winter Update will release in early 2025 as part of big update in Tekken 8. Of course, there’s also the elephant in the room: a new guest character. Fans speculate that a new DLC character will be announced during The Game Awards this week, though it’s anyone’s guess who will be joining the game. Some believe that we might get a big crossover character and the popular consensus is Tifa from Final Fantasy VII Rebirth – a very long-requested guest fighter – though we’ll have to wait and see if this turns out to be true.
Looking beyond the Winter Update, season 2 of Tekken 8 will launch in Spring 2025 as players can expect a year of new content, characters, stages and more major balances and fixes.
