The Boys season 3 is set to premiere on 3 June and ahead of its release, Amazon Prime Video released a new redband trailer that really brings out the show’s penchant for strong violence.
The new redband teaser trailer for The Boys certainly wears its R-rating proudly on its sleeve, showing a grittier universe of unruly superheroes being hunted by the titular team of super killers. The third season will also introduce Supernatural actor Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy, who is briefly seen in the trailer.

The Boys is based on the acclaimed graphic novel written by Garth Ennis and co-created by Darick Robertson. Touted as a complete subversion of the superhero genre, the story follows a group who are out to kill and expose the Justice League-esque superheroes of the world who have shady histories and dark ulterior motives.
Amazon Prime Video picked up the rights to the comics and developed the live-action show in 2019 starring Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty and Dominique McElligott among many others. Jensen Ackles will join the series in season 3 as well.
The Boys series has since gone on to become a fan-favourite in the superhero sub-genre in addition to receiving critical acclaim for its boldness and style. It also doesn’t hold back any punches when it comes to violence, which the new trailer highlights rather well that will surely please fans.
With the star power of Ackles now joining the cast, as well as the potentially controversial story threads it will likely tackle in the next season, The Boys season 3 is shaping up to be the show’s most unhinged saga yet.
The Boys season 3 airs on 3 June only on Prime Video. Watch the gritty trailer below (warning for quite a bit of violence).
