Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Tamagotchi Tomogunchi

The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Tamagotchi Watch Feeds Off Your Kills and Evolves

While I am highly against overpriced cosmetic items, the latest Call of Duty: Modern Warfare watch is a revelation for the series. The Tamagotchi-inspired virtual pet called the “Tomogunchi” is a parody of the Japanese digital pet watch from the nineties and is now available in Modern Warfare. The wristwatch features a virtual pet that hatches from an egg and comes in different forms including a cat, panda and monster-like creature. As you play through your multiplayer match, the creature will need to be taken care of else it will simply die due to neglect.

The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Tomogunchi (Tamagotchi) watch requires just as much attention as the virtual pets back in the day and players need to keep tabs on its food and emotional state in order to evolve it into a different form. Arguably one of the best features of a Tamagotchi from back in the day.

If you think I am joking, I am not. If you wear this in-game you will need to use the d-pad to check the watch while running around the map and killing enemies. The more you kill, the more it feeds off the kills and the faster it evolves. The pet also has its own emotional states including hungry, dirt, unruly, and sleepy. It also helps that the device kind of has the same colour scheme as the classic Nintendo Game Boy.

They head into combat and begin a rampage to feed your Tomogunchi; providing sustenance in the form of Kills, Objective Scoring, Killstreaks, and Wins. That’s going to cheer up your creature in no time! Unless your battles start to go badly, of course [/perfectpullquote]

The whole idea of this Call of Duty Tomogunchi is rather genius as it even has its own fake manufacturer and cool-looking advert. The press release reads like a cheesy Verimark ad too;

This is more than a mere watch: This is a nesting device that houses the most realistic artificial intelligence ever witnessed in a Rothwynn Industries wrist-based product.

Utilizing the latest advancements in pixel-based monochromatic liquid crystal display technology, your Tomogunchi’s “home” is a durable watch, machine-crafted from the finest non-biodegradable plastic designed to provide you with the most immersive pet-based, combat-related experience ever seen.

Do YOU have the nurturing aptitude to keep your Tomogunchi alive? Will your new friendly creature become well-fed and thrive? Or will it freak out and eventually die due to inattention?[/perfectpullquote]
