Days Gone is releasing this Friday, 26 April 2019 and if you are picking it up then you will have to brace yourself for a pretty big update. We are busy reviewing the game at the moment and last night the Days Gone day one update 1.03 started downloading. Upon inspection, I discovered that the patch was a bit bigger than I thought coming in at 21.42GB.
The patch notes don’t reveal much other than the update featuring “bugs fixes and localization updates” but 22GB is quite a hefty download considering the review copies of the game are the same versions which retailers and the PlayStation Store will be selling. This means that when you start pre-loading the game, this update will be included in the file download and if you are purchasing a disc version, then you will need to download the 22GB update in order to play the latest version of the game.

We already know that the Days Gone file size is 67GB and after the update, this remained unchanged. At least you don’t need to make any extra space for the game now. Days Gone is releasing on Friday, 26 April 2019 and our review of the game will be going live the day before on 25 April at 14:00.
