Division 2 Day 1 update size

The Division 2 Day 1 Update Size is 90 GB For Physical Copies on PS4, 50 GB for Xbox One & PC

There’s a lot to love about Ubisoft’s upcoming looter-shooter, The Division 2. The game has a great post-launch content plan, we enjoyed our time thoroughly with the private beta and everything seems to be moving in the right direction. However, there is one dark cloud hanging over the game, especially if you prefer physical copies not only for the shiny disc but also for the reduced download requirement compared to going digital.

Day 1 updates aren’t anything new and sometimes, you have to spend a lot of time downloading even if you do have a physical copy. However, The Division 2 Day 1 update size is, without a doubt, the biggest I have seen, especially on the PS4. Ubisoft revealed The Division 2 Day 1 update size for PS4, Xbox One and PC, and it is absolutely mammoth.

I hope you are sitting down because the official The Division 2 Day 1 update size is between 88 and 92 GB on the PS4 with a physical copy. Ubisoft explains that:

If you purchased a physical copy of the game, begin installing from the disc. Provided you are online, your console will simultaneously download Title Update 1 while you install it. Expect a 88-92 GB download, depending on your region and preferred language. Whether installed from a disc or downloaded digitally, the final HDD install size will be between 88-92 GB.

For PC and Xbox One gamers, things are a little bit better, around 40 GB better in fact. However, it is still a massive download considering this is with a physical copy, clocking in at 48 to 52 GB.

The Division 2 Day 1 update size is, without a doubt, massive. Those with standard 500 GB PS4 and Xbox One consoles should probably also consider clearing up a lot of HDD space. For South Africans who do not have access to Fibre internet in their area, or who are on capped internet, I wish you the best of luck, as I am in the same boat with capped LTE.

Even with the massive update size, I am still very excited for the game, as The Division 2 is looking fantastic. Check out our private beta preview below and then tell us what you think about this mammoth update size.
