ZeniMax Online Studios has announced the 2024 expansion headed to The Elder Scrolls Online. Titled “Gold Road” the new expansion is set to launch on 3 June for PC and 18 June for consoles. The content revolved around never-before-seen Daedric Prince Ithelia and her awakening.
Players will try and discover who freed the Daedric Prince Ithelia and find her before others do. Ithelia has no memory of who she is but she is a mighty being whose powers are growing as she travels across the West Weald – a new explorable location in The Elder Scrolls Online. However, this location isn’t making its debut in the series. It appeared in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.

ZeniMax Online Studios says the West Weald consists of three biomes. There’s the Gold Road itself – a rainforest, which has just sprung up overnight called Valenwood Annexation and the hills of Colovian Highlands.
The Elder Scrolls Online Gold Road is introducing a new game system called Scribing. It will allow players the ability to customize specific skills to their liking. In terms of the lore, Scribing is described as the precursor to Spellcrafting in other Elder Scrolls games. Players will find Grimoires which grant new customization abilities in specific skill lines. At launch, these customizable skill lines include all ability-specific and weapon skills.
The Elder Scrolls Online: Gold Road will also ship with its own story, dungeons, Delves, world events and a new 12-player trial. There are also two new companions. Of course, the content will roll out over the coming months after the official Gold Road release in June.
