Remember a while back when that NVIDIA Now database leaked and there were a load of unannounced games listed on their site? The games included the likes of Bioshock 4, Kingdom Hearts IV, Final Fantasy VII Remake for PC, GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas Remasters and more. Believe it or not, most of those supposed “placeholder” games have actually turned out to be real and now fans believe that Square Enix might be working on a Final Fantasy 9 Remake which was listed on the NVIDIA Now leak alongside Kingdom Hearts IV.
If anything, the NVIDIA Now leak played host to a number of Square Enix titles that have all been announced. This includes the Chrono Cross Remaster, Kingdom Hearts IV and Final Fantasy VII Remake for PC. Another game that was part of the list was a Final Fantasy 9 Remake.
Given the recent announcement of Kingdom Hearts IV, another game that was on the list that many players believed to be fake, there’s a good chance that the Final Fantasy 9 Remake is actually going to happen. If we take a look at the full list of leaked games, we can see a trend happening. Especially when it comes to Square Enix games. Keep in mind that this list was compiled way before these games were actually announced.

Another announced game by Square Enix that was part of the list was Tactics Orge. However, last week Square Enix actually filed a trademark for Tactics Orge Reborn also confirming the game’s existence.
The only leaked game that has yet to be announced is Final Fantasy IX Remake. By the look of things, it might actually be real after all. The game was originally released back in 2000 for PlayStation. Square Enix has released multiple remasters of the game across PS4, PS3 and PC. Given that the company is busy with Kindom Hearts IV, Final Fantasy XI, Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 2, Forspoken and Final Fantasy Tactics, we might not see a Final Fantasy IX Remake for some time.
