The Final Fantasy VII Remake opening movie is no different and while it contains scenes we have already seen in the past trailer, it is nice to watch it from the start to finish. The opening movie is just over 5-minutes long and is a fully-fledged CG cinematic until the last scene where the train arrives at the Mako reactor.
The cinematic gives us a closer glimpse at the world we will be exploring in the game including outside Midgar which we will most likely not see in the first chapter release of this episodic game. It does, however, showcase some great locations and characters from the inner walls of the massive city.

The planet’s very life force is drained as Mako energy by the shadowy Shinra Electric Power Company. In the city of Midgar, a flower merchant gazes upward as a train pulls into a station… FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE is a reimagining of the iconic original with unforgettable characters, a mind-blowing story, and epic battles. The story of this first, standalone game in the FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE project covers up to the party’s escape from Midgar, and goes deeper into the events occurring in Midgar than the original FINAL FANTASY VII.
