This morning we reported on the leaked images that revealed Jim Carrey’s role in the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog Movie as Dr. Robotnik/Eggman. Well, the little hope I have had all along for the film vanished faster than Sonic’s rings after he lands on spikes thanks to the new movie trailer.
The first official trailer for the upcoming Sonic The Hedgehog film is here and there is so much wrong with it. From the sounds of things, the film follows a traditional Sonic plot. It follows Sonic (voiced by Ben Schwartz from Parks and Recreation), against his arch nemesis, Eggman (Jim Carrey).

The trailer’s questionable choice of the soundtrack also has me worried. Its cliche choice to go with “Coolio’s Gangsters Paradise” seems a bit dramatic considering the trailer is meant to be funny and well, force us to stomach the hideous-looking blue hedgehog.
The trailer hides Sonic away most of the time, for good reason we gather and focuses on Jim Carrey’s take on Robotnik. At first, the character seems strange but right at the end of the trailer, we get a glimpse at the Dr Eggman we all know. Bald with a large moustache. if anything, I am excited to see the movie just for him.
Sonic, on the other hand. I have no words. What in the world happened?
