The first trailer for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is here and it gives viewers a glimpse at Marvel’s new martial arts action hero and a new character that plays a major role in the ever-expanding MCU. The trailer introduces Shang-Chi played by Simu Liu, who many of you may know from the show Kim’s Convenience.

Keep in mind that the first trailer for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is but a teaser so don’t expect anything out of this world when it comes to the reveals and details. We get a short introduction to Shang-Chi as he faces off against the mysterious Ten Rings. The Ten Rings is an organization led by Mandarin. It is the same organization that has been hinted at previously in other Marvel Cinematic Universe films and shows.

The Ten Rings was originally showcased in the 2008 Iron Man and then later intend at again in Iron Man 3. However, the upcoming Shang-Chi will see them play a pivotal role in the story and perhaps more.

Marvel plans on releasing Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings later this year in September. The film also marks the return of the company’s MCU to theatres as unlike Black Widow which is releasing on Disney+ and in cinemas, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings will only debut in theatres.
