The Flash Gets First Look Trailer with Keaton’s Batman and New Suit

During the DC FanDome event over the weekend, actor Ezra Miller revealed the first behind-the-scenes trailer for Andy Muschietti’s upcoming film The Flash, featuring plenty of Easter eggs and the arrival of Michael Keaton’s Batman, who portrayed the superhero in Tim Burton’s adaptations during the 90s. Miller will play Allen aka The Flash, who seems to have gotten a new suit upgrade as well.

The talk of the town surrounding this first look teaser trailer is undoubtedly on Michael Keaton as Batman, who will reprise the popular role after almost three decades. The trailer ends with Allen presumably pulling a cover off of Keaton’s 1989 batmobile too. We also get a brand new look at The Flash’s upgraded suit which definitely looks similar in design to the one seen in Injustice 2, as well as incorporating the bolts into the suit post-Flashpoint Paradox, which is implied to be what the plot of the film is based on.

Fans have uncovered several Easter eggs that may give us hints at the plot, including Barry Allen encountering what seems to be an alternate version of himself with longer hair, pointing to the Flashpoint storyline. Ben Affleck is also heavily rumoured to be involved in the film as Batman, so it will be interesting to see how The Flash tackles the multi-timeline concept that made Flashpoint such a compelling and exciting story. Will we see Michael Keaton’s Batman and Ben Affleck’s Batman meet at some point in the film? We really hope so.

The Flash is still deep in production at the moment, which explains why they couldn’t prepare a full trailer for the event. However, this first look trailer is enough to keep us begging for more, and we can’t wait to see where the DC cinematic universe goes with so many exciting projects lined up, including Matt Reeves’ highly anticipated The Batman (which takes place in a different timeline, not to be confused with The Flash‘s iterations of the character).
