The Game Awards 2023 nominations will officially be announced later today, host Geoff Keighley confirmed. This year’s show will be the tenth annual awards-giving event for the gaming industry, celebrating the biggest games of the year in various categories including the coveted Game of the Year. 2023 has been a rollercoaster of critically acclaimed gaming releases, so it will be interesting to see which titles gain recognition and which ones inevitably won’t make the cut.
Fans can tune into a livestream later today at 9AM PT or 7PM CAT (local time) to see the full list of nominations revealed. This will lead into the big event taking place on 7 December, where all the winners will be announced once the voting process has concluded.

2023 has been a truly stellar year for gaming. With the release of critically acclaimed titles such as Baldur’s Gate 3, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Alan Wake 2, Street Fighter 6, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Hi-Fi Rush, Sea of Stars and many more, it will be a very close call as to which games will be nominated for the biggest categories. Most of all, Game of the Year will be a heated point of discussion as there are several deserving titles for that honours, but usually only six spots for nominations.
