The Game Awards is just a few days away. There’s a cool hype trailer to set the mood here. On Thursday this week, or Friday morning for us South Africans, you’ll be able to tune into the year’s biggest video game award event. The running duration for the show has now been confirmed by Geoff Keighley. The show organizer and presenter says fans can expect the ceremony to last between 2.5 and 3 hours long.
Keighley says that the show will play host to more “new” game reveals this year. He also claims that instead of revealing more titles beforehand, the show will act as the main platform for the new game announcements instead.

The Game Awards is quite a landmark event in the industry. It plays host to a number of announcements and if anything, paves the way to all the game releases we usually get up to June/July the following year.
At the moment, the video game release calendar for 2024 isn’t looking so great. There are a number of titles on the way but nothing planned as big as the games we had this year. So we can only hope the event ushers in all these new reveals and announcements for games we can play soon (and not in a few years time).

The Game Awards 2023 will run roughly 2.5 to 3 hours, confirms Geoff Keighley.
Teasing fewer games ahead of the show this time compared to past shows as there are more *new* game reveals.
