Google Stadia Cyberpunk 2077

The Google Stadia Launch Lineup Only Includes 12 Games

Google has been punting its new Stadia gaming streaming service for months now as we lead up to its 19 November 2019 release date. However, the “big launch” is not looking so big anymore as the service will only go live with 12 games, three of which are Tomb Raider titles.

According to Google, the release lineup for Stadia consists of 12 games, only a fraction of what users have seen announced up to now. The 12 Google Stadia games include;

  • Assassin’s Creed Odyssey
  • Destiny 2: The Collection
  • GYLT
  • Just Dance 2020
  • Kine
  • Mortal Kombat 11
  • Red Dead Redemption 2
  • Thumper
  • Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition
  • Rise of the Tomb Raider
  • Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition
  • Samurai Shodown

Keep in mind that many of these games are also over a year or so old which is not putting the service to the test. Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition launched back in 2014 and won’t do much to show off the service’s so-called “4K 60fps cloud gaming power”.

The big title here is Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC which requires quite a monster rig (or so we have heard) in order to run.

But there is light at the end of the tunnel. Google plans on rolling out more games over the course of the upcoming months ahead including Borderlands 3, Final Fantasy XV, Ghost Recon: Breakpoint, Metro Exodus and much more. However, early adopters of the service may feel as if they are better off sticking to other gaming platforms until the lineup gets a little more attractive.

Of course, Google Stadia will not be launching in SA at this time, but we will hopefully have ways to test the service in the coming week to see if it is a viable option for gamers in SA.
