OG Qualified For StarLadder

The International 2018 Winners OG Qualified For StarLadder Minor by Crushing Alliance

After winning The International 2018, in arguably the greatest Grand Finals ever, we haven’t seen all that much from OG. With their superstar Ana taking an extended break, OG hasn’t been performing all that well. It could have just been that the team needed time to adapt to their new stand-in carry player, Igor “iLTW” Filatov, because last night, OG qualified For StarLadder Minor in spectacular fashion.

OG qualified for the StarLadder Minor by crushing their opponents during the group stage and when it came to the playoffs, the team looked back on form. OG took down Vega Squadron with ease and then had to face Alliance. Although Alliance looked relatively strong during the group stages, OG simply ran them over to take the European qualifiers slot.

OG decimated Alliance 3-0 in the grand final and in the first game, they were diving into Alliance’s fountain in under 10 minutes. Not one of the three games played lasted over 30 minutes, with some great performances from each team member.

This was definitely a big boost for a team that seems to have fallen off as of late. OG currently sits in 26th place on the DPC log and as you know, only the top 12 teams get a direct invite to The International 2019, so they have a mountain to climb if don’t want to go through the qualifiers yet again. Winners of the StarLadder ImbaTV Kiev Minor get 120 DPC points and maybe more importantly, a direct invite into the DreamLeague Season 11 Major.
