The one thing this Dota 2 esports fan always looks forward to the most during the year is The International, the annual and absolutely massive event. This tournament sets a new record for the biggest prize pool in esports history each year thanks to crowdfunding through a Battle Pass and it is a spectacle no gamer should miss out on watching, even if you aren’t into Dota 2. Now, Chinese team Vici Gaming has leaked the dates for The International 2019.

Vici Gaming is the only Chinese team who have secured their spot in The International 2019 so far, currently sitting third on the DPC log, with PSG.LGD not too far off as well. The Chinese Dota 2 juggernaut simply leaked or possibly revealed (too early) the dates for The International 2019 as:
- Group stages: 16 – 18 August 2019
- Main Event: 20 – 25 August 2019
The tweet below has since been removed, but you can still check it out thanks to GosuGamers.
Someone probably pressed the button a bit too early. The translation of the tweet reads:
According to inside information, the timetable to TI9 is out! Group stage: 8.16~8.18, playoffs: 8.20~8.25. Please adjust your work/study arrangements accordingly in order to enjoy the matches to the fullest
The International 2019 will take place at the awesome Mercedes Benz Arena in Shanghai, China. It is a massive stadium with a seating capacity of 18,000. Before we get the biggest esports event of the year, however, there are still some big tournaments left.
The OGA Dota Pit Minor group stages are going on right now and in the middle of May, we will see the Disneyland Paris Major take place. The DPC will finish up in June with the Epicenter Major and then, the direct-invite teams will be set.
