The group stage of The International 2019 was the best one yet and featured some insane matches between the top teams in the world. With the group stage now complete, we look toward The International 2019 Main Event, which runs from 20 to 25 August. The group stage saw the elimination of Chaos and NiP, which means there are now 16 teams remaining who can claim the Aegis of Champions and the lion’s share of the biggest prize pool in esports history, currently sitting at $33.4 million.

The stakes couldn’t be higher in The International 2019 Main Event and there are a lot of exciting things to come, including the Arcana vote results, the All-Stars matchup, the opening ceremony where we will hopefully see GabeN waddle onto the stage again and, of course, the cosplay contest and more.
The most important thing, however, is all the matches, but before we get to that, let’s look at the group stage standings heading into the Main Event of The International 2019. Images by Wykrhm Reddy.
As you can see, OG, the defending champions, made it to the top of Group B with style, crushing almost everyone in their path with ease, only dropping a game against Na’Vi and Vici Gaming, the latter in which they played a Techies. Interestingly enough, last year’s grand finalist, PSG.LGD, managed to claim the top spot in Group A, coming out on top against the likes of Team Secret.
The TI9 Main Event Bracket
With the group stage completed, we look towards The International 2019 Main Event and the bracket where every match this year is hard to call. Later today, at roughly 11:00 South African time, I will be sharing our bracket predictions with our readers, followed by Fantasy Challenge picks at roughly 14:00. For now, check out the schedule for the matches colour-coded by day. Keep in mind that each day starts at 04:00 SA time, but matches will start a bit later, possibly at around 05:00.
Daily Feature Schedule
Apart from the amazing Dota 2 matches we will be watching, there’s also a lot of featured content for fans to look forward to, starting with the opening ceremony. We will also see the winner of the Arcana vote announced (Ogre Magi, face it), as well as a cosplay contest, short film contest winner and the All-Stars match. Battle Pass owners can now also picked their favourite player for the All-Stars match and earn some more Battle Points based on that player’s performance.
There is a lot to get excited about for The International 2019 Main Event and personally, I can’t wait for GabeN to make an appearance, all the bits from Slacks and Kaci, as well as the expert analysis from the panellists, interviews and, of course, all the matches.
