We saw some incredible Dota 2 matches yet again during the third day of The International 2019’s Main Event with two teams securing a top 6 placement in the tournament, while two got eliminated, ending their hunt for the Aegis of Champions and the lion’s share of the biggest prize pool in esports history. First, let’s look at The International 2019 results for Day 2 of the Main Event, then move on to the Day 3 schedule in South African time.

To say that the matches were pretty amazing would be an understatement. Defending champions OG faced off against Newbee (ex-Forward Gaming squad) and yes, Ana again played IO as a PO1 and yes, OG again managed to crush their opponents 2-0. OG is playing like the best team in the world right now and they have secured a top 6 placement in the tournament with their win over Newbee.
The Secret versus EG match was another must-watch affair with some very long games where Secret just got caught out too much throughout game 1 as EG capitalised on their opponents’ mistakes. However, Secret mounted a fantastic comeback in game 2 with some beautiful wombo-combo plays in a game that ended in their favour after more than a hour. Game 3 Secret finally played in that dominant fashion we expected to see from their DPC performance and held onto their lead through the early game, putting EG on the defensive. However, EG managed to mount an insane comeback and close out the series 2-1.
TLDR The International 2019 Results:
- OG 2 – 0 Newbee
- EG 2 – 1 Secret
- Royal Never Give Up 2 – 0 Virtus.Pro
- Liquid 2 – 0 TNC
Now, only 10 teams remain with a shot at the Aegis of Champions. Virtus.Pro and TNC walk away with over $670,000 for their placement.

TI9 Day 3 Schedule
Matches are scheduled to start at 04:00 SA time on 22 August but as things have been going, the first match might start a bit later. We will also see the Arcana Vote winner between Ogre Magi and Windranger get announced. After the initial match, the next one will start until the day is done, so it all depends how long the matches last.
First, we have some Lower Bracket matches and then, PSG.LGD and Vici Gaming go up against each other for a spot in the Upper Bracket Finals, while OG will face off against EG for a spot in the Upper Bracket Finals. Two teams will be eliminated tomorrow, ending their search for the Aegis of Champions.

I am, of course, most excited about the OG versus EG match as this could put OG one step closer to becoming the first two-time TI winners. Not to mention this is as big of a grudge match that you can possibly get. Check out the match schedule in order from first to last. All matches are BO3
- Newbee versus Infamous (Lower Bracket)
- Mineski versus Team Secret (Lower Bracket)
- PSG.LGD versus Vici Gaming (Upper Bracket)
- OG versus EG (Upper Bracket)
