If you are like me, the latest The International Compendium update marks one of the most exciting times, when we can finally start opening those card packs and get ready for the Fantasy Challenge. The Fantasy Challenge and player card packs work exactly the same as they did last year, where you collect full teams, convert duplicates to dust and produce more card packs from those duplicates. I suggest that Dota 2 Battle Pass owners start on it soon, as it does take quite a lot of time.

When you get a full team, you also get custom teleport effects from your favourite team section, with higher-quality version for a full set of silver and gold cards. This update comes after the regional qualifiers for The International 2019 completed, which means the 18 teams for the biggest esports tournament of the year have been set in stone. Valve congratulated the six teams from the regional qualifiers and then talked about the latest The International Compendium update.

[perfectpullquote align=”full” bordertop=”false” cite=”” link=”” color=”#33fff6″ class=”” size=”20″] Congratulations to the six teams that have earned the right to join the twelve DPC standouts in battling for the Aegis of Champions. Mineski, Royal Never Give Up, Natus Vincere, Chaos Esports Club, Infamous, and Forward Gaming have all emerged from the Regional Qualifiers as worthy additions to the field of the world’s finest Dota teams. Now that the final list of eighteen teams is set and preparations in Shanghai are well underway, it’s time to explore The International 2019 Compendium.

To get started, Battle Pass owners are invited to unwrap Player Card Packs and begin assembling the perfect rosters for this year’s Fantasy Challenge. You can also select your Favorite Team to unlock customized emoticons, effigy banners, team sprays, team balloons in place of your sky snakes, and special Teleport effects. The Teleport effects even have upgraded versions for players who collect a full set of a team’s silver or gold cards. [/perfectpullquote]

The Fantasy Challenge is one of my favourite things during The International and last year, I placed in the top 1% and shared my predictions and team picks with our local Dota 2 players. This year will be no different and although it is still way too soon for the Fantasy Challenge picks to start, I will provide you with the Main Event predictions very soon as part of our The International 2019 coverage plan.
