The entire Kingdom Hearts series is finally launching on Steam after a 3-year exclusive deal with the Epic Game Store. Currently, the Kingdom Hearts series is playable on all current gaming platforms. However, on PC, you can only purchase the game on the Epic Games Store.
The new Steam collection will see the full package debut on Valve’s store. This includes Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue and Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind. The complete bundle on Steam is called the Kingdom Hearts Integrum Masterpiece.
For those who have never played Kingdom Hearts before, this package will let you experience most of the story. There are a few mobile games which act as spin-offs in the series but lore-wise, you aren’t missing much.
Kingdom Hearts does have an incredibly convoluted storyline. Even hardcore fans of the series, like myself, struggle to piece the story together. If you want the easiest and most simple breakdown of the story, I recommend you visit this handy Google Doc. It doesn’t get simpler than that.
The full Kingdom Hearts collection will launch on Steam on 13 June. Pricing isn’t available yet but you can wishlist the package here in the meantime.
Square Enix is reportedly hard at work developing Kingdom Hearts IV which is rumoured to launch on the new Nintendo console alongside the classic bundled games. Little is known about Kingdom Hearts IV at this time. We know the game will act as a new story outside of the Dark Seeker Saga which wrapped up with Kingdom Hearts III.
