The Last of Us 2 Development is Finishing Up

We haven’t seen much at all about The Last of Us 2 this year and it is without a doubt one of the most-anticipated PlayStation exclusives ever. Ask anyone who’s been a PlayStation fan for years and they will tell you that one of the best games ever created was The Last of Us. Now, is seems that developer Naughty Dog is finally finishing up the game.

Naughty Dog’s Anthony Newman, the co-director of The Last of Us 2, has revealed on Twitter that they are hiring to close out development on the game. The Last of Us 2 isn’t specifically mentioned in the tweet or the job listing, but there is no doubt it is not the highly anticipated PS4 exclusive.

Before everyone gets too excited, this doesn’t mean that a release is imminent. Naughty Dog is hiring to close out the development of the game, which means those who get hired will still have to start work and all that, not to mention that the hiring process itself could take a while. Then, there’s also bug fixing and polishing that every game needs before release, but after this tweet, I am hopeful that the game will release before the end of this year. Keep in mind that Sony is also skipping E3 this year so we might see a surprise Last of Us 2 release date announcement pop up just like we saw with the PS5 specs.
