If you didn’t think The Last of Us Part I was a remake then you’ll probably change your mind after seeing the drastic difference between the PS3 and PS5 versions of the game. Naughty Dog has rebuilt The Last of Us Part I from the ground up but apart from the character animations and facial details, the entire world has also been completely reworked too.
A new comparison video shows off just how different the two games are now and how the PS5 has managed to deliver a dense world with an insane amount of detail and life. You can see from the video below that The Last of Us Part I has completely reworked the game world. From the global illumination used to light up the sky and surrounding areas to the water in the ocean, the objects, which are mostly all new and weren’t in the original game. It looks superb.
It is also nice that Naughty Dog included the original PS3 version in the video as a direct comparison between the two games. You can see the original world design, that originally looked quite good for its time, compared to the remake and it is quite impressive.
Here is the world comparison video:
There’s also another trailer that Naughty Dog released earlier this week that showcased the game’s motion capture and how the characters have come to life in the game. Check that out below:
The Last of Us Part I is set to launch on 5 September 2022 for PS5 with a PC release at a later date. Our review will be live on 31 August at 17:00 SAT.
