The Last of Us Part II Release Date Announced – Will Ship on Two Discs

The brand new trailer was packed full of gameplay and of course our first look at Joel. It showcased Ellie exploring, hunting and escaping the harsh wilderness of the post-apocalyptic world.

The game’s focus on story is as strong as ever and even in the few minutes of showcased footage, we were able to foresee some of the dark turns it will take us through.

The trailer seems to take place soon after last year’s E3 trailer that saw Ellie and her friend Tina share a kiss during a dance. The trailer reveals Tina’s possible death and Ellie returning to exact revenge on them. It is full of gunfights, gore, the undead and some crazy clickers.

Pre-orders for The Last of Us Part II went live early (now removed) on Best Buy which also revealed Naughty Dog has developed the game on two discs. The pre-order pages also pointed to a $159 Collector’s Edition and a $79 special edition but they were taken down before anyone could grab more images on the packages.
