The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom Trailer Reveals New Gameplay

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is Nintendo’s next big game of 2024. In a brand-new trailer, we get a good look at the map of Hyrule that Princess Zelda will explore throughout the game.

This is the first Legend of Zelda game where Princess Zelda tries to save Link. As a result, the game mechanics are slightly tailored to her playstyle. However, the land of Hyrule still seems quite familiar to those who have played other games in the series.

There’s the Gerudo Desert and its ruins. The land is home to the women of the Gerudo Tribe. Jabul Waters is a water landscape filled with lakes and rivers. It is home to the Sea Zora and River Zora. Each tribe resides in their own home.

The Eldin Volcano is the hometown of the Gorons. This area is an active volcano which the Goron enjoy. For Princess Zelda, however, it means braving the heat and dangers. There’s also the Faron Wetlands. This jungle is home to the Deku.

The trailer also reveals that The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom features a full quest log system where Zelda can take on main and side quests from the people of Hyrule. Some she’ll need to come back to when she has the right tools, of course.

Fast travelling around the map helps here. Zelda can whisk herself to and from certain locations using waypoints. She can also get around using her horse. It can be summoned anywhere in the overworld. With it, she can jump up cliffs, bash enemies and reach places must faster than using her two feet.

The trailer also details some vendors in the game. Zelda can make smoothies using ingredients found around the world. She can also purchase and equip gear that enhances her abilities. The Zora Flippers, for example, let her swim faster.

There’s much more to unpack in the trailer. Watch it below. The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom launches on 26 September on Nintendo Switch. There’s also a Limited Edition Nintendo Switch Lite Hyrule Edition launching on the same day.
