The Legend of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom South African Pre-Order Guide

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is releasing on 12 May and if you’re looking forward to the game, you’re likely wondering what versions you can buy. Nintendo has gone all out with the highly anticipated sequel by releasing a special edition console, Switch accessories and different game versions too.

To make your life easier, I have compiled a South African pre-order guide for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom with everything you need to know for its launch this week.

Consoles and Accessories

Nintendo Switch OLED The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Special Edition

If you want to own a special edition Nintendo Switch OLED console then the Tears of the Kingdom model is available. I have already unboxed this beauty in a video you catch below or here. I can tell you it is a magical experience and any hardcore Nintendo fan would love this unit.

It comes with a specialized dock, Joy-Con controllers and Switch device all decorated in beautiful Tears of the Kingdom artwork.

Nintendo Switch Carry Case

  • Releasing on 12 May – R749

If you already own a Nintendo Switch console (or buy the new Zelda OLED model) you’re likely in need of a carry case. Nintendo is releasing a special first-party carry case for the game. It supports both the OLED and standard Switch console and comes with two screen protectors for both units too.

While the Joy-Cons make for a great controller on the Switch, there’s nothing better than playing games using a Pro Controller. Anyone who has owned one will vouch for its incredible battery life and comfort. I charge my Monster Hunter Rise version once a week, if anything. There’s a special Tears of the Kingdom Pro Controller available to order too. Decorated with artwork and featuring a special white grip, it is a must-have for all fans.

Amiibo – The Legend of Zelda Tears of The Kingdom – Link

  • Releasing on 12 May – R399

Amiibo collectors will love this exclusive collectable designed based on Link in the upcoming game. The Amiibo will not only look great on your shelf but will also unlock an exclusive paraglider skin you can use in the game. It is currently the only way to get the skin.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Standard Edition

The standard edition of the game. Keep in mind that certain retailers in South Africa are hosting a range of pre-order incentives for the game. Nexus Hub, for example, has posters, mugs and stickers available for pre-order customers. The game is also slightly cheaper on pre-order there at R1,349

Those of you who looking at the Collector’s Edition can look forward to a robust package of goodies released at launch. The Collector’s Edition includes the game, an exclusive SteelBook, an ICONART Steel Poster, a set of four pins and an art book. Nintendo has revealed how big the art book is just yet.
