The Lord of the Rings Gollum was originally meant to release on 1 September but sadly the game has been delayed again. This time we don’t even have a new release date to share with you as developer Daedalic Entertainment says they need more time to polish up the game.
Announced back in 2019 for a release in 2019, The Lord of the Rings Gollum was then delayed to 2022 and now it seems that the game might even miss a 2022 release window. In a statement, Daedalic Entertainment says that the studio is dedicated to creating the best possible experience for players. In order to achieve the level of quality set by the studio, they have decided to push back the game’s launch date to a new unannounced month.

The previous gameplay trailer which was released earlier in July looked a bit rough around the edges. Character animations look stiff and the general world looked dull and uninspired. We can only hope that the delay time is spent brushing up the game’s visuals and feel. If anything, there’s a lot riding on The Lord of the Rings Gollum which acts as the first mainline entry from the J.R.R Tolkien books in a few years.
