The team behind The Lord of The Rings: Gollum, Daedalic Entertainment has issued an apology addressing the underwhelming launch of the game. The studio claims it is currently working on fixing the game’s issues but in my review, I explain that the performance is a whole other ball game – the general gameplay is also horrible.
In the statement, the studio has acknowledged the issues in The Lord of The Rings: Gollum saying that they are analysing the criticism and suggestions provided by players. The team is focusing on sorting out the technical bugs and performance issues.

The funny part of the statement claims that further patches and updates will allow players to enjoy the game to its fullest. That is a tall order. The Lord of The Rings: Gollum is now the lowest-rated game of the year.

The Lord of The Rings: Gollum was released on 25 May and it hasn’t gone down well. You can read my full review which was actually quite challenging to put together given how bad the general gameplay is. Not only is the performance unlike anything I have experienced in the past but the gameplay is just horribly dull and tedious.
The Lord of The Rings: Gollum has even gone on to become an internet meme with players posting some hilarious videos and photos of the experience. The one below is a rough example of what you’ll experience in the game – a lot of bugs.
