MCU Multiverse

The MCU Multiverse Confirmed by Head of Marvel Studios

In the Marvel comic books, the multiverse, an infinite number of alternate universes, has been a big thing in story plots for a very long time now. However, the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is quite different from its comic book origins in a number of aspects, from the defeat of Thanos in Endgame to just about every other story line so far. Now, the MCU multiverse has been confirmed by the head of Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige, opening up an infinite number of possibilities for the MCU going forward.

In Spider-Man: Far From Home, Mysterio spouts some multiverse claims but that was all a lie and that will be the only small Spider-Man: Far From Home spoiler you will see in this article, as it sets up a question posed to Mr Feige.

Fandango asked since Mysterio was lying, if that means we will ever see the Marvel Multiverse in the MCU. Mr Feige then responded with the following:

[perfectpullquote align=”full” bordertop=”false” cite=”” link=”” color=”#33ffec” class=”” size=”22″]No, it just means he was full of shit. I mean, in Doctor Strange, we hear the Ancient One talk about the multiverse, so we’ve already established it as a thing.[/perfectpullquote]

Everyone who watched Dr Strange should have heard him talking to the Ancient One and the mention of the multiverse, but since then, the MCU has been very quite on the matter and honestly, I didn’t know it was actually “a thing” in the MCU.

With this “revelation” about the MCU multiverse, it opens up, to be frank, an infinite number of possibilities for phase 4 and the future ahead. In the most basic of terms, the MCU multiverse means that literally, anything can happen, any characters can return (from a different universe) and more. For example, Iron Man from another universe could come back, the same with Black Widow. Thanos could never have been defeated and find a way to invade from another universe, or even wear two, yes two, Infinity Gauntlets.

Just a few small examples about the latter example in the comic books thanks to the multiverse.

  • On Earth 1610, there are eight Infinity Stones, four used on a gauntlet for each hand.
  • On Earth 199999 there are two Infinity Gauntlets, with one having the fakes from Odin’s vault.
  • On Earth 9047 (which is in the Humorverse) there are Infinity Mittens.

Yes, there are actually a countless number of possibilities with the MCU Multiverse being confirmed by the head of Marvel studios and although I don’t think things will get as crazy as the Humorverse, it does give this Marvel fan chills to think about the possibilities.
