Bloober Team currently has its hands full with the pressure of delivering a great remake of Silent Hill 2, but it hasn’t ruled out potential sequels for both The Medium and Observer yet. Before Konami signed a deal with the studio to tackle the acclaimed Silent Hill series, Bloober Team already established itself in the horror genre and it seems like it may return to some notable IPs one day.
During an interview with Gaming Bolt, Bloober Team production boss Kacper Michalski was asked if the studio would ever consider developing sequels to its older games. While Michalski didn’t exactly confirm if anything was in the pipeline, it seems like the team might return to Observer and The Medium at later stage. “Who knows,” said Michalski. “If we come up with a good idea on how to make a jump back to the universe of Observer or The Medium, then why not? Everything’s possible.”

Fans shouldn’t take this as any confirmation that Bloober Team is currently working on those sequels, but it’s a possibility at this point. It sounds like the developer might have its hands full with the Silent Hill 2 remake for now, which is scheduled to release sometime in 2023.
The Medium released back in 2021 to mostly positive reviews, with many praising its dual-world feature that allowed players to explore two locations simultaneously. However, the game (and studio at large) has also been criticised for how it mishandles mental health issues, though that’s for an entirely different conversation. The official synopsis for The Medium reads:
“Discover a dark mystery only a medium can solve. Explore the real world and the spirit world at the same time. Use your psychic abilities to solve puzzles spanning both worlds, uncover deeply disturbing secrets, and survive encounters with The Maw – a monster born from an unspeakable tragedy. The Medium is a third-person psychological horror game that features patented dual-reality gameplay and an original soundtrack co-composed by Arkadiusz Reikowski and Akira Yamaoka.”
The Silent Hill 2 remake is currently in development at Bloober Team for PS5 and PC.
