iStore has announced the local pricing for the new iPad Pro. The device doesn’t have a local release date yet but it is expected to land in South Africa in the coming weeks. The thinnest iPad ever made will launch in certain regions on 15 May with pre-orders now open. South Africans can also get their pre-orders in before the launch.
The new iPad Pro comes with a number of noteworthy changes. It is incredibly thin, for starters. However, its new OLED display is likely the best new feature of the bunch. The so-called Ultra Retina XDR Display is Apple’s first OLED in the iPad and it has been one of the most requested features to date.
Of course, all this tech doesn’t come cheap and the iPad Pro can set you back up to R60,000 in South Africa if you want the best-of-the-best model. The 13-inch 2TB M4 Nano-Texture Glass model is up for pre-order for R59,999. iStore is also requesting a R12,000 deposit for the pre-order or you can pay it all upfront.
The good news is that the lower-storage capacity models are much cheaper. The cheapest model is the 11-inch 256GB Standard Glass iPad Pro which retails for R22,999. The cheapest 13-inch model is then R29,999 for the 256GB Standard Glass iPad Pro.
The iPad Pro starts to get more expensive when you look at the Nano Texture Glass models. This special glass only comes on the 1TB storage and up versions. They start at R43,999 for the 11-inch and R46,499 for the 13-inch.
