The Next iPhone SE Could Ship With Apple Intelligence

Apple is working on a new “budget” iPhone SE device. The last iPhone SE called the “3rd generation”, was launched back in 2022 and came with a powerful A15 Bionic chip. This was the same chip found inside the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max but also in the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus. At the time, it packed one of Apple’s best chips even though the phone featured the iPhone 8 “bezel” design.

According to a new report, Apple is looking to spruce up the next iPhone SE with some advanced tech. The new iPhone SE, which is expected to launch in early 2025 will include Apple Intelligence. This means the phone will come with a “newer” chip. Likely the A17 Pro chip which is found in the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max.

Given that only the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max feature Apple Intelligence, it makes sense the new iPhone SE will include the same chip. It would also be quite bad for Apple to launch a new iPhone in 2025 without the signature new AI features.

Bloomberg claims that the iPhone SE will live in an iPhone 14 body and feature a 6.1-inch OLED screen. It will also do away with the Touch ID feature and use Face ID. This is quite a step away from the SE range which has kind of been stuck in the past.

Apple is expected to launch the new iPhone SE in 2025. Reports claim it won’t be announced at the iPhone 16 event next month. Instead, the company will reveal it in early 2025 alongside other hardware. The iPhone 16 event will play host to Apple’s new phones including the entire lineup that launches with Apple Intelligence.

Rumours say Apple is working on a Rose Gold iPhone 16 Pro. The standard iPhone 16 will also include the Action Button which debuted on the iPhone 15 last year. Considering the SE will come with some cool tech and Apple Intelligence, it might make the iPhone 16 a tough sell.
