The first footage from the planned Nintendo Switch 2 Experience venue has appeared online. Someone managed to film a shot of the New York venue, which is expected to open on 4 April following the full showcase of the new console next week.
New York marks one of the first locations on the list for Nintendo’s worldwide Switch 2 tour. The venue will open its doors on the same day as the Paris venue, followed by London the week after and other locations in April and May.
This New York venue is set up in the interior of the Center415 building. It shows a glowing red glass square door with some check-in area and a large room at the back where Nintendo will likely set up the console. There’s also a display set up on top of the venue.
We don’t know yet how the process will work for those who have obtained the very limited tickets to get hands-on with the Switch 2. We don’t know if there is a schedule, if you have to simply wait in the line the whole day for your spot, and whether or not you can film and share any content around your session. But seeing this venue is making the Switch 2 even more real than ever.
Nintendo is expected to host the full Direct showcase on the Switch 2 next week; however, the company is also planning a Direct for later today, which will focus on the original console and some games headed to the hardware in the months ahead.
Nintendo has made it clear that today’s Direct stream will not have any Switch 2 details included in it at all. We will share more information on the announcements later today as well as keep you updated on the Switch 2 launch plans as we get them.
