Sony has announced a Midnight Black version of the PlayStation 3D Pulse Headset. Up to now, the headset has only been available in white with the headband being white and the rest of the device in black. The new Midnight Black PlayStation 3D Pulse Headset switches that top headband out for solid black plastic. It is not the most drastic change ever but users now at least have more than one option to look at when purchasing the headset.
This headset kind of aligns itself with the same colour model as the Platinum Wireless model released during the PS4 generation. Although, the sound quality isn’t the same. Thankfully, Sony has just recently updated the PS5 with the option to tweak the audio presets of the headset. Users can now create custom equalizers or make use of Sony’s pre-set options.

Sony says the new Midnight Black PlayStation 3D Pulse Headset will arrive next month but hasn’t shared an exact date yet. They haven’t released a price either but you can expect to pay the standard R2,199 for this device.
Hopefully, the company will follow the trend and release a Crimson Red headset soon too. It would match the DualSense controller perfectly. It is just a pity they only switch out the headband and don’t tweak anything else on the device.
