All Possible Futures has confirmed that The Plucky Squire will launch on 17 September. The game was originally announced back in 2023 and follows Jot across a storybook as he jumps from page to page and watches the world around him transform into different realms.
The game’s concept is definitely unique. As players explore the storybook, each page offers its own unique perspective. Some pages see Jot turn into a flat, hand-drawn character as he fights enemies and explores the land. Other pages are designed from a 3-dimensional perspective.
Jot can also learn various combat moves throughout the game. He can throw his sword at distant enemies and upgrade this ability to throw it even further. Jot can also slash enemies up and use a spinning slash to take out groups.
The whole idea is these “Artworks” act as stages that see concept art come to life with its own enemies and art style. This means throughout the game, Jot will encounter new challenges set in unique worlds.
The Plucky Squire is coming to PC, Xbox, PS4, PS5 and Nintendo Switch. It is also launching day one on PlayStation Plus for Extra and Deluxe members. It launches on 17 September. Watch the trailer below.
