The Razer N95 “Project Hazel” Mask Has RGB and Speaker Air Filters

Razer has announced what they claim is the world’s smartest mask. Project Hazel is an N95 respirator that is currently in concept and is designed to protect you against today’s gripping virus. The whole project is quite ambitious as the outer shell is made or a water and scratch proof recycled plastic. In addition, the plastic is transparent which allows users to speak freely and people can read your lips.

The mask includes two circular zones on both sides of the plastic. These discs are used for ventilation and also include an RGB ring around them. Razer has also packed a set of LED lights inside the mask itself which turn on when it gets dark and help illuminate your mouth. Razer claims that these discs ventilators help filter air that is breathed in as well as the CO2 which users breath out. The company is hoping that it will be certified to filter out 95% of airborne particles including the COVID-19 virus and other harmful toxins.

The discs pack a few cool features besides the filters. They both include microphones and amplifiers which will help project your voice when you speak. Razer is currently working with THX sound engineers to enhance the quality of the speakers and sound levels. Both discs also detach from the mask itself and are rechargeable. Razer is still currently testing the battery life of the filters but they claim that users will be able to see how long they have left by using a mobile app.

Razer says that the Project Hazel N95 mask is still currently in development phase. It also has no approval from the Food and Drug Administration or Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. This means that while it sounds like a dream come true, they cannot sell it or advertise the device as a health benefit.

The Razer Project Hazel N95 mask does sound great on paper and given the fact that we will have to live with masks for another few years, there’s always room for the ultimate one. I would buy this…. If it ever releases.
