There’s a green razor made by Razer coming your way. Why it took so long for the gaming accessory brand to make this is beyond me but it is finally happening. A razor for gamers! Of course, gamers don’t have different hair from non-gamers but brands make all sorts of strange things to accommodate us.
Let’s not forget Logitech’s pink range which is targeted at gender-inclusive gamers. The lineup featured smaller, feature-lacking gaming mice and headsets but cost more money than the usual ‘manly’ black product range.

The Razer razor is actually in partnership with Gillette. It is a limited edition five-blade GilletteLabs with Exfoliating Bar Razor that has been skinned with Razer’s acid green colour scheme. It also has some Razer branding on it and some snake decals.
The razor has no RGB which is kind of a missed opportunity here. My electric toothbrush even has a light so surely this could have had something somewhere on it. Imagine a cool RGB spotlight near the end of the tip that shines on your face as you shave. Razer has done crazier things in the past.
Gillette says the Razer razor has been inspired by Razer’s April Fool’s joke this year which saw the brand come up with an RGB gaming mouse that had an electric shaver built into it. In a statement, Gillette’s global brand franchise leader Daniel Ordonez said:
“It is much more than a logo on a razor. Gillette and Razer meet at the intersection of design, innovation, and cutting-edge technology to unveil the limited-edition product. Both brands collaborated on design elements in a variety of ways to leverage each other’s strengths to create a unique and compelling product – bringing together and integrating the visual and brand identities from both partners – to develop the GilletteLabs Razer Limited Edition product. “
The GilletteLabs Razer Limited Edition (its official name) is launching worldwide at the end of August. You’ll be able top purchase it in two variants. There’s a standalone razor and a bundle that includes a green travel tin. You’ll also be able to purchase the green-themed razor blades separately so you can stock up on them at the same time.
Gillette says the standalone pack will cost $23 and the travel, tin combo is $30. I am not sure if the product will land in South Africa at this rate but let’s hope the next time you’re at Dischem you’ll spot it locked away in the glass cabinet and wait 10 minutes for someone to come open it up for you.
