The Sims 1 and 2 Remasters PC EA Games

The Sims 1 and 2 Remasters Reportedly Coming to PC This Week

The Sims 1 and 2 remasters are reportedly coming to PC this week with all DLCs included. Unfortunately, it’s unclear if the games will ever appear on consoles. While the wait continues for EA Games to deliver a brand new entry in the franchise (which has apparently been put on hold), fans can enjoy a bit of the series’ legacy with the first two games returning.

As reported by Kotaku, sources close to the media outlet claimed that EA Games will announce The Sims 1 and 2 remasters for PC sometime this week. Both games will come bundled with all previous DLCs and expansions. The games will be released digitally only so it doesn’t seem like there are any plans to make physical versions of the game, which is understandable considering its on PC.

That said, The Sims 1 and 2 might be a nostalgic blast for fans of the series, some are wondering if the same treatment will ever be given to The Sims 3, which many consider to be the best game in the franchise. As with all rumours and reports, take this with a pinch of salt for now until we get confirmation from EA. If the report is accurate, then we won’t have to wait very long for that.

In other news, there was some confusion regarding Project Rene, a new game which was likely intended to be The Sims 5 at some point. However, it’s now being developed as its own title. EA previously announced that it’s putting The Sims 5 on hold (the actual Sims 5) while it refocuses its efforts on creating more expansions and DLC for The Sims 4. Kate Gorman, EA Vice President and General Manager of The Sims said on the matter:

“With that, you’ll see there are more ways to experience The Sims on different platforms, different ways to play, transmedia, and lots of great offerings within this universe. So absolutely, we’re still continuing to support The Sims 4 more than ever. Still continue to deliver expansion packs and updates and fixes. But what this is to say is, the way we’re going to do things going forward is a little different.”
