Steam Deck OLED White

The White Steam Deck OLED Limited Edition is Something You Can Actually Buy

Valve is actually going to release a white Steam Deck device three years after teasing fans with it during a live stream. The white unit was shown off briefly when Valve announced the original Steam Deck but the company ended up releasing a black model instead. Fans have speculated that the white model was perhaps just a dev kit or an internal device used by Valve employees.

Thankfully, you can soon be the cool kid with the white Steam Deck OLED because it is coming our way. Starting on 18 November, Valve is releasing this so-called “Limited Edition” model for $679. The device will be available at all places where the Steam Deck is currently sold.

Of course, there’s a catch. Don’t expect it in South Africa just yet because Valve has partnered with official distributors on the launch of the device. In South Africa, our units are parallel imported. However, that doesn’t mean you won’t get one. You just need to hope stock makes its way to the tip of Africa before it sells out.

The bundle is called the Steam Deck OLED: Limited Edition and it comes with the same specs as the 1TB model. Instead of black and grey, it is white and grey. It also comes with an exclusive white carrying case and white cleaning cloth.

Essentially, this unit sells for $30 more than a non-Limited Edition Steam Deck OLED. The company says that stock has been allocated across each region but once it is sold out, it is gone and no more units will be produced.

As soon as I get some sort of confirmation related to the South African release of the Steam Deck OLED: Limited Edition, I will share more.

This model will only be available in limited quantities, with stock allocated proportionally across each region. This means separate availability for US, CA, UK, EU, AU, and the Komodo regions. To ensure that as many customers who wish to purchase a Steam Deck OLED: Limited Edition White can get their hands on one, we are restricting purchases to 1 unit per account. Accounts must have made a Steam purchase before November 2024 and be in good standing to be eligible.
