The Witcher 3 Cut Dialogue Ciri Ending The Witcher 4

The Witcher 3 Mod Restores Cut Dialogue in Ciri’s Ending, Possibly Teasing The Witcher 4

Modders have restored some cut dialogue for one of the endings for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which possibly teases where The Witcher 4 might be heading next. There are a number of endings to get in The Witcher 3 but one of the most common (and according to many, the most ideal) endings involves Ciri and Geralt working together as witchers, darting off on new adventures. However, new cut dialogue that recently became available via a mod might shine some new light on the next step of their journey.

As reported by IGN, modder MerigoldMariobor uploaded a new mod to Nexus Mods yesterday which restores two pieces of cut dialogue from the final cutscene of Ciri’s ending. In this restored dialogue, Ciri now comments on her new sword. Geralt later adds that they must go to the city of Ellander, where either Yen or Triss (depending on who you romanced) will be waiting. The credits roll after this cutscene ends.

The dialogue was never included in this ending for unknown reasons, though at face value, it suggests that The Witcher 4 could continue on from this scene and follow Ciri as the new face of the franchise, potentially setting off to Ellander. Geralt voice actor Doug Cockle previously revealed that he will be involved in the fourth Witcher game but he won’t be the focus, leaving the door open for Ciri to pick up the mantle.

We recommend taking this with a pinch of salt for now because CD Projekt Red hasn’t outright confirmed where The Witcher 4 will take place or if it will even feature Ciri as the new main character. Some fans speculate that the next Witcher game could take a boldly different approach and allow players to create their own characters, carrying over the lessons learned from Cyberpunk 2077.

Either way, we shouldn’t expect to play The Witcher 4 for at least another few years as the game is still in active development.
