CD Projekt RED have finally confirmed a release window for the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S upgrades of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Players can get their hands on the enhanced current-gen version of the game in Q4 2022 (or late 2022), bringing it out just in time for holiday season and also on the 7th anniversary of its release.
CDPR previously planned to release the current-gen upgrade for The Witcher 3 in Q2 2022, but was delayed indefinitely following the news that the studio would be bringing its development in-house, taking duties away from Saber Interactive. CDPR has now confirmed that we’ll be playing the enhanced version in late 2022, though no exact release date was specified.

Meanwhile, CDPR is also working on DLC for Cyberpunk 2077, though we aren’t sure when that will arrive either. The studio also confirmed that its in the early stages of developing a new Witcher game, but that’s likely years off from release or even being talked about in detail.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt originally launched in 2015 to excellent reviews. Despite launching with a plethora of technical issues, CDPR managed to fix them with numerous patches. It’s now widely considered as one of the greatest RPGs of all time and one of the best video games of the last decade.
Unfortunately, the same can’t be said about Cyberpunk 2077. The game’s launch was met with plenty of controversy, including poor last-gen performance, plenty of game-breaking bugs and glitches and a review roll-out that actively tried to avert reviewers from playing the shoddy console ports as only PC review codes were issued. CDPR has since updated and fixed the game, but the damage done by its historically bad launch is now a cautionary tale for other developers to either cut its losses on last-gen versions or delay games outright until it’s actually done.
