The Witcher 3 Current-Gen Release Date Leaked

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Has Sold Over 50 Million Copies

CD Projekt Red has announced that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has managed to reach a new sales milestone of over 50 million copies sold. This massive total accounts for a large portion of the overall series sales which currently sits at over 75 million units sold.

CD Projekt Red posted the update on social media confirming that The Witcher series – comprised of 2007’s The Witcher, 2011’s The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings and 2015’s The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – has collectively sold 75 million copies. Unsurprisingly, The Witcher 3 is the biggest seller out of the bunch, selling over 50 million copies which makes it one of the best-selling RPG titles of all time as well as one of the top 10 highest-selling AAA games in history.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt more or less concluded the story of Geralt of Rivia, though there seems to be more Witcher games on the way, according to CD Projekt Red. Project Polaris is presumably The Witcher 4 though we know very little about it at this point and likely won’t be released until 2025 at the earliest. A remake of the first Witcher game is also in the works and it’s an ambitious project as it’s implementing an open-world. Project Sirius is believed to be a multiplayer game set in The Witcher universe.

As for Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt Red is working on its next major expansion, Phantom Liberty, which is confirmed to have a showcase at Geoff Keighley’s upcoming Summer Game Fest kick-off event as well as a playable demo at Days of Play. The expansion will star Idris Elba in an unknown role next to Keanu Reeves, who will also reprise his role as Johnny Silverhand from the base game. Phantom Liberty will launch exclusively on current-gen platforms only.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is currently available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
