The Witcher 3 Realistic Nudity CD Projekt Red Update

The Witcher 4 Will Soon Enter ‘Full Production Phase’

CD Projekt Red has provided an update on Project Polaris or also known as the next chapter in The Witcher saga. According to the developer, The Witcher 4 has made “substantial progress” in 2024 and will soon enter the “full production phase.”

CD Projekt Red chief financial officer Piotr Nielubowicz spoke in a recently released video about The Witcher 4 and the progress being made on the anticipated title. “The Polaris team – working on the next game in The Witcher saga – made substantial progress, which will soon enable us to wrap up pre-production and take this project to the full production phase,” he said.

It’s worth noting that Nielubowicz is mainly referring to the progress made over the course of the first half of 2024 fiscal year for the company, meaning “substantial progress” was already made in early 2024. Project Polaris is likely a lot further along in development at this stage.

While progress on The Witcher 4 seems to be progressing smoothly and at a pretty fast rate, analysts still predict that the title will only launch on next-gen consoles. After the fiasco surrounding the launch of Cyberpunk 2077 which was criticised for being rushed and incomplete, fans would probably want CD Projekt Red to take its sweet time on The Witcher 4 and wouldn’t mind waiting a few extra years if it meant releasing a polished, functional and well-optimised game at a later stage.

As for details about The Witcher 4, the Polish studio revealed that Geralt of Rivia will have some part to play in the game but he won’t be the focus of the story or the main protagonist. This led fans to speculate that Ciri could pick up the mantle as the new face of The Witcher series since she already made quite an impression in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. One of her endings also reveals that she travels a similar path to Geralt after becoming a witcher, so there’s plenty of story left to tell.
